No matter what time of year you visit Arizona, going up north to Prescott makes for an enjoyable day trip. Especially during the summer season, when the temps in Phoenix are 100+ and Prescott only gets in the mid-80’s.

This quaint part of the state has one of the cutest town squares, featuring antique shops, a brewery, art galleries and one of the town’s main attractions, Whiskey Row.

whiskey-row-prescott-saija-lehtonenAs a town known for its rich/wild mining and ranching history, it’s only natural that the town square once also housed over 40 saloons on the 100 block of Montezuma street, aptly named Whiskey Row. While a fire destroyed the whole block in 1900, the majority of the buildings were rebuilt in the five years to follow and remain standing to this day.

Stops to saunter in and have a drink:

Matt’s Saloon

The Palace

Hooligan’s Pub

Bird Cage Saloon

Moctezuma’s
