Happy New Year! Now looking ahead at what 2014 will bring, we could not be more thrilled about some of our upcoming events and new additions to the lineup. Beginning TODAY, with a wine tasting on us:

LON's wine cellarComplimentary Wine Tasting @ LON’s | Tuesday, January 2 from 5 – 7 p.m.
Every first Tuesday of the month from 5 -7 p.m. LON’s at the Hermosa hosts a complimentary wine tasting featuring two of the 500+ varietals on our award-winning wine list. Guests will receive 1-2 oz. pours of two different varietals, which will also be available for sale at a discounted price of 25% off per bottle. LON’s Sommelier Bill Parker will also be on hand to make suggestions and answer any questions regarding the wine program.

Mesquite Flour Tortillas - Pork Belly TacosCooking Class: Tacos & Sliders | Saturday, January 11 from 12 – 2 p.m.
Learn how to prepare the best street tacos and sliders in the Valley. Featured dishes, and snacks, include BBQ beef short ribs, pork tacos, roasted squash empanadas and truffle cheese croquettes. An on-site market will also feature ingredients for sale that were used in the cooking class, as well as produce from local farmers and other products used in the LON’s kitchen, including house-made granola, trail mix, herbal truffles, Himalayan salt rocks and artisan salts. Cost: $30/person

Wine Dinner feat. Domaine Carneros | Thursday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m.
This wine reception and four-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef James Ducas and the LON’s culinary team will be paired with wines from Domaine Carneros, featuring special guest Eileen Crane. With a reputation built on their premium sparkling wines, in particular the Brut Vintage and luxury cuvée Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs, Domaine Carneros also found a specialty in the production of pinot noirs in the early ’90’s. Cost: $99++/person

On the RocksMixology Class: American Whiskey | Sunday, January 19 from 2 – 4 p.m.
A crash course in cocktails made with American Whiskey, Last Drop’s Spirit Guide Travis Nass will call class to session promptly at 2 p.m. From its history and the styles of whiskey to the various brands and recipes, guests will not only get a taste of two American whiskey cocktails but a veritable knowledge on the liquor of choice, along with ample time for Q&A at only 10 people per class. Cost: $30/person

Artist in Residence Brunch feat. Sarah Kriehn | Sunday, January 19 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Enjoy an a la carte hacienda brunch at LON’s at this Artist in Residence Brunch featuring printmaker Sarah Kriehn. With an approach to art lying between the fields of printmaking and painting, her original abstract, monotypes and collagraphs chronicle encounters and experiences in life.  Cost: complimentary with the price of brunch

Artist in Residence Dinner feat. Cindy Zimmermann | Sunday, January 23 at 5:30 p.m.
The Artist in Residence Dinner Series continues into 2014 with a wine reception and evening of salon-style fine dining featuring award-winning author, international columnist and national speaker, Cindy Zimmermann. Enjoy an intriguing evening of conversation over a four-course dinner with wine pairings as Zimmermann shares insight into her book, A Woman of Interest: A Memoir of Letters, which reads like a Hollywood thriller, but is in fact a deeply moving, real-life mystery. She is currently in talks with several film producers anxious to tell her story and will be doing a book signing to follow the dinner. Cost: $99++/person
